The World Writes Love Poems All The Time ~ Robin Chapman

“The world writes love poems all the time”
–Steve Tomasko

How the sun slips all its orange color
into the clouds and the water before
leaving, how the moon’s face is enough
to light the luna moth’s brief hours,
how the wind makes the sound of rain
in the leaves when there is no rain
to remind us that dust and the breath
of trees will call it back again, how
the redbud in the back yard, reading
light, knows spring, burst its red skin
into blossom before the first leaves.
