Gabriel Welsch writes both fiction and poetry. His next collection of poems, The Four Horsepersons of a Disappointing Apocalypse, will appear in 2013. Previous collections are The Death of Flying Things (2012), Dirt and All Its Dense Labor (2006) and An Eye Fluent in Gray, a chapbook (2010). His work has appeared in more than 100 different journals and magazines, including Southern Review, Mid-American Review, New Letters, PANK, CutBank, West Branch, Chautauqua, and The Georgia Review, as well as previously in Ascent. In the Best American Short Stories 2012, one of his stories was included in the list of “Other Distinguished Stories of 2011.” He earned his MFA at Penn State and now lives in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, with his family, and works as vice president of advancement and marketing at Juniata College and occasionally teaches writing at the Chautauqua Institution.
